Series; New Kyogen Titles (Shinpan kyogen gedai)

Bando Hikosaburo as Genzaemon and Ichikawa Sadanji as Yusuke, 1874 - Great kabuki double portrait featuring Bando Hikosaburo as Genzaemon and Ichikawa Sadanji as Yusuke. The fellow at upper right has just broken through a sluice gate, tying a white sash around his waist as he emerges through the jagged wooden bars, a few stands of wet hair clinging to his face. The man at lower left looks up at him with an angry grimace as he cradles a tiny baby to his chest. An interesting design with expressive figures, detailed with embossing on the white sash.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 14" x 9 1/4"

Condition - This print with nice color and detail as shown. Backed with paper. A few creases at edges and small repairs, slight curling, staining on face. Please see photos for details.
