Comments - Handsome portrait of an Ohareme, a woman from the village of Ohara near Kyoto. These women are known for their distinctive costumes, and can often be seen in the streets of Kyoto selling flowers and firewood. She sits on a stool next to a bundle of firewood, wearing a blue coat over a white robe, and a white headscarf with a design in red and blue. A charming image.
