Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of the younger sister Ohaya holding onto a hanging loop of cord as she looks back over her shoulder at Minami Yohei, a frightened expression on her face. Yohei looks back at her with a worried frown as he pushes up the sleeve of his plaid kimono. At right, two men react with horror, one backing away on the floor with his hand flung out in front of him in a stopping motion. The home is rather shabby, with cracked and missing plaster on the walls, and a strange red stain, perhaps blood, is dripping down the wall at left. From left, the actors are Ichikawa Danjuro VIII, Onoe Baiko IV, Ichikawa Komazo VII, and Ichikawa Kodanji IV. Nice expressive figures in a well detailed setting.
