Comments - Interesting kabuki scene from the play "Uta no Shiori Meisho E-awase" at the Ichimura Theater of Nakamura Fukusuke I as a man dancing about with an offering tray in one hand and a kama or sickle in the other. He looks somewhat worried as he hops about on one foot, wearing a formal green tunic over a golden yellow kimono tucked into blue pants, and a black court cap. A circular inset bordered with splashing yellow waves features Arashi Kichisaburo III as the samurai Towara Toda gripping a bow, grimacing angrily. He wears a brocade robe over a fine suit of armor and a tall court cap. A handsome design, nicely detailed with bokashi shading in the background.
