Nagakubo: Ichimura Uzaemon XII as Ichikiri Gorota - Terrific image from Toyokuni III's only Kisokaido series, featuring bust-length actor portraits in front of landscapes of the various stations. Here, the commoner Ichikiri Gorota leans forward with an alarmed expression as he carries a stone block. He wears a blue kimono with a large crest on the back, a dotted cloth wrapped around his head. The landscape above shows travelers in the mountains at Nagakubo. A nice expressive figure.
