Original After Nagamachi Chikuseki (1757 - 1806) Japanese Woodblock Print
Cotton Roses in Rain

Comments - Beautiful image of cotton roses bending forward in a shower, with the softly shaded bands slanting across the image to suggest the wind and rain. The pink blossoms are delicately detailed with embossed lines and soft shading, a nice contrast to the looser, more painterly foliage. A lovely design. Printed in the Meiji era, this woodblock is based on an earlier painting by Nagamachi Chikuseki.

Artist - After Nagamachi Chikuseki (1757 - 1806)

Image Size - 9 1/2" x 9 7/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Light toning, a few small marks. Please see photos for details.
