A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction
The Three Heroes Swear Loyalty in the Peach Orchard, 1866 - Handsome scene from the historical tale "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms," a story about the three warring kingdoms in China during the third century. Here, Kwanu (or Kanu), meets his fellow leaders in a peach orchard to take an oath of brotherhood, swearing to serve each other and the state rather than continue fighting amongst themselves. His elegant green robe features dragons and colorful clouds, trimmed in a blue violet print and lined with red. His graying beard falls to his waist, his hands clasped together beneath his sleeves. The white plum blossoms contrast nicely against the softly shaded night sky. A nicely detailed design.
