Ichimura Uzaemon XII as Kazusa Shichibei Kagekiyo, 1849

Comments - Handsome portrait of Ichimura Uzaemon XII as Kazusa Shichibei Kagekiyo in the play "Kotoba no hana momiji no Yozakari." The young man is dressed as a kamuso or wandering monk, with a black monk's mantle over an intricately patterned floral kimono, his deep basket hat in one hand as his shakuhachi flute in the other. He looks down with a slightly alarmed expression, smiling faintly. A nicely detailed design with soft shading on the night sky.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14" x 9 3/8" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with nice detail as shown. A few repairs and small marks, wrinkling throughout, curling. Please see photos for details.
