Flower Garden on the Grounds of Kinryuzan Temple, Asakusa, 1853

Comments - Terrific Hiroshige triptych of visitors enjoying a spring outing to view the cherry blossoms in the garden on the grounds of Kinryuzan Temple in Asakusa. Women and girls stroll along under umbrellas in the foreground, as men cross a narrow bridge over a stream behind them in the center. Others relax on benches at tea stands or climb the small hills for a better view. The landscape is dotted with flowering trees covered with pale pink and white blooms, and tall pines rise above the rooftops along the horizon. A wonderful panoramic view of this classic spring activity. A nicely detailed design.
