Beauty Stopping a Horse, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Interesting scene of a beauty stopping a horse running loose by stepping on a rope tied to it, its tail just visible at left. She stares calmly over her shoulder, a wooden tub and a pile of laundry under one arm, while all around her men run from the wild animal in fear. A blossoming cherry tree at right frames a view of field with mountains in the distance. An amusing subject with a nicely detailed setting.
