Original Kunichika (1835 - 1900) Japanese Woodblock Print
Ichimura Kakitsu IV as Fuwa Bansaku, 1865

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of Ichimura Kakitsu IV as Fuwa Bansaku, gritting his teeth as he stares ahead suspiciously, one hand gripping the hilt of his sword. He wears a yellow and brown checked kimono over a red under robe, his hair pulled back into a topknot tied with white cord. Circular and leaf-shaped insets contain verses, set against a handsome backdrop of bamboo in silhouette against the night sky. A bold design with graphic impact.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 14" x 9 1/2"

Condition - This print with nice detail as shown. Vertical fold at side. Slight creasing. Please see photos for details.
