Courtesan in a Doorway - Lovely portrait of a courtesan standing in a doorway, one hand resting against the frame of the shoji panel. She wears a maple leaf print kimono over a red under robe, tied with a black geometric print obi, the fabric trailing on the floor around her feet. Floral hairpins, combs, and a ribbon adorn her hair. Nice handling of the silhouette on the shoji panel. A classic Edo era beauty portrait. A typed label accompanies the print (see below).

Image Size - 12 3/4" x 9 1/8" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse from previous mounting. Loss at edge, a few wormholes, repaired. Slight rippling, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details.
