Kabuki Characters with Banzuke

Comments - Handsome triptych featuring a group of kabuki characters with a banzuke or list above in the form of a scroll unrolling. At right, the evil Nikki Danjo clutches a stolen scroll to his chest as he grimaces at loyal warrior Otokonosuke, whose red stage makeup gives him an imposing appearance. At left, the rogue Benten Kozo is disguised as a beauty, but his upper body tattoo gives him away. The actors are Ichikawa Danjuro, Onoe Kikugoro, Nakamura Fukusuke as Akechi Jujiro, Nakamura Shikan as Akechi Mitsuhide, Onoe Kikugoro, and Ichikawa Gonjuro. A great design with bold figures and vibrant color.
