A Beauty at Kurumaya Restaurant, Shiba, circa 1827 - Charming portrait of a beauty at the Kurumaya Restaurant in Shiba, looking back over her shoulder with a slightly alarmed expression, her open mouth showing even white teeth against her fashionable two-tone lipstick. She wears a striped kimono over a red tie-dyed under robe with a blue collar, a dotted towel draped over her arm. At wooden stand at left holds blue and white ceramic bowls. The inset above depicts the grounds of a shrine. A lovely head and shoulders beauty portrait by Eisen.
