A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction
Nihon Bridge in Snow, circa 1839 - 1842 - Handsome winter scene of the Nihonbashi on a snowy day. Pedestrians huddled under umbrellas walk across the bridge as the snow falls heavily through the wintry gray sky. A few boats move along the blue river below, which creates a colorful contrast with the snow. The peak of Mt. Fuji rises above the clouds at left, and the towers of Edo Castle can be seen at upper right. Nicely detailed with shading on the water and sky.
