Foreigners Dancing

Series; Kiyochika Punch

Foreigners Dancing - Rare design from a series of comic pictures Kiyochika did based on the newspaper "The Japanese Punch." Here, the artist pokes fun at foreigners during a dance. An extremely tall woman dances with a very short man, while a short stout woman dances with a tall man with red hair and a red beard. At left, people watching from the side of the room snicker at the sight. Ornate glass chandeliers hang overhead. An amusing scene.
