Moronobu (1618 - 1694) Japanese Woodblock Reprint
Shishi-mai (Lion Dance)

Comments - Handsome design by Moronobu of a festival scene with dancers performing the Shishi-mai or Lion Dance. A crowd gathers to watch the performance accompanied by drums and flutes. A charming design from the early years of color woodblock prints, the black line work accented with just orange, yellow, and tan colors. A nice large format image and a fine choice for a collector interested in these early Japanese print subjects.
