A Voyage to All Countries - Written by Kanagaki Robun, "A Voyage to All  Countries" (Bankoku kokai/Seiyodochu hirakurige) was released in 30 installments between 1870 and 1876, featuring illustrations by Kyosai, Hiroshige III, and Yoshiiku. The story depicts the grandsons of Yajirobe and Kitahachi, the protagonists from Jippenshu Ikku's earlier "Tokaidochu hizakurige" (Shank's Mare Tokaido), on their way to visit an exhibition in London. The pair leaves from Yokohama, passing through Shanghai, Hong Kong, Saigon, Singapore, Ceylon, Suez, Cairo, Alexandra, Marseilles, Paris, Gibraltar, and Southampton along the way. Each book features a few black and white diptych illustrations along with many pages of text. Subjects include landscapes and interactions with foreigners, along with some humorous situations, such as encounters with wild animals, including an octopus. The first time we've seen this interesting series.

This complete volume - This complete volume of "A Voyage to All Countries" includes 5 woodblocks, comprised of 1 color and 3 black and white diptychs, and 1 color single panel illustration. The title page inside the front cover includes an elephant. It has a paper cover featuring embossed flags from different countries and a traditional stab binding.

Size - Single panel 5 7/8" x 3 3/4"; diptych 5 7/8" x 7 7/8" + margins as shown; overall size 7 1/8" x 5 3/4" x 1/4"

Condition - Prints with good detail as shown. A few creases, some pages have stains. Binding intact. Please see photos for details.
