Owari, Moon over Mt. Miyaji, Prime Minister Moronaga and the Water Goddess, No. 19 - Beautiful design of the exiled prime minister Fujiwara Moronaga playing the lute at Mt. Miyaji. A lovely water goddess appeared to him one night as he was playing under the moonlight, pausing to enjoy his sad songs. He sits on a log under a maple tree, leaves fluttering down through the air as he looks up at the mysterious figure draped in a sheer white robe. The inset at top left features the soft silhouette of a dancer in a mask and shaggy wig. A wonderful Chikanobu design, detailed with delicate cloth embossing on the beauty's white robe and an embossed geometric pattern on Moronaga's white under robe.
