Comments - Interesting small format print depicting a bunraku puppet play about Princess Yaegaki, who needed to deliver a sacred helmet to her sweetheart. She was unable to cross a lake to reach her lover, so she prayed to the gods of Suwa Shrine for help. Magic foxes came to her assistance to escort her across the water. Notice the puppeteers in black manipulating the white foxes. A nice subject for a collector interested in this timeless art form.
