Emperor's Procession Crossing a Bridge, 1868

Comments - Handsome view of the Meiji Emperor's procession crossing a bridge in Tokyo. The emperor rides in an elegant palanquin topped with a golden phoenix, hidden from view by fine reed blinds. Noblemen in court dress accompany him on foot they cross the arched wooden structure towards the castle. A few auspicious cranes fly across the sky above. An interesting composition, nicely detailed.

Condition - This print with nice detail as shown. Wrinkling throughout, a couple stains. Please see photos for details.
