Beauty in a Bat and Gourd Kimono Kakemono

Comments - Lovely kakemono or vertical diptych of a beauty wearing an interesting kimono with an alternating pattern of bats in flight and clusters of three gourds against a finely striped ground. Her green floral brocade obi reverses to pink, and she stands barefoot, looking ahead with a rather dismayed expression, her mouth slightly open. Her hair is pulled back into a large smooth bun, adorned with a large comb and a few decorative hairpins. A charming design, nicely detailed.

Artist - Eisen (1790 - 1848)

Image Size - 29" x 10 1/8"

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Two attached panels, backed with paper. Horizontal fold between panels. A few wormholes and small holes, repaired. Staining at edges. Please see photos for details.
