Ichimura Kakitsu IV as a Commoner, 1867

Comments - Great kabuki portrait Ichimura Kakitsu IV as a commoner, sneering as he looks up while adjusting the dotted cloth draped over his shoulder. He wears a blue and white summer kimono, his hair pulled back into a knot at the back of his head. A fan is visible at bottom center, and a flower-shaped inset contains a verse. The checked background adds graphic impact. A bold design.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 9 1/4"
