Comments - Lovely view of the inner shrine at Ise, framed by tall pine trees. This sacred Shinto shrine has been connected with the Emperor and Empress of Japan and their family members for nearly 2,000 years. In 1937, the Japanese government commissioned this print to commemorate the 2,600th year of the Emperor reign. An important historic print, beautifully detailed and printed.
