Leering Demon Monk - Dramatic woodblock cover for a magazine or novel. Here, an enormous yamabushi or mountain priest grimaces wildly as he reaches for a samurai who had tumbled to the ground before him. In his other hand, the monk grips the top of the title cartouche. His eyes bulge as he leans forward, sticking out his tongue above sharp pointed teeth. A fascinating, bold, design, detailed with burnishing on the black cap.
