Hashiba Ferry on the Sumida River, 1847 - 1850 - Handsome view of the Hashiba Ferry crossing on the Sumida River in Edo. Two boats are filled with passengers, one just approaching the shore at right. A tiny egret flies across the water at left, while a few other birds bob on the waves at right. Trees line the water's edge, and mountains can be seen in silhouette along the horizon. A rarely seen subject with fine bokashi shading on the distant mountain.

Image Size - 8 3/8" x 13 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Partially backed with paper. Small losses, thinning areas, repaired. Wrinkling throughout, fold across top. Please see photos for details.
