Hakoomaru and Yawata no Shichiro by a Waterfall - Fantastic scene of Hakoomaru (the young Soga no Goro Tokimune) fighting with Yawata no Shichiro on a rocky cliff overlooking a waterfall. The boy forces Shichiro backwards to the ground, his hands on his enemy's chest, looking up at a statue of the Buddhist deity Fudu Myoo at left. Shichiro grimaces, his eyes bulging as he grips Hakoomaru's wrist, trying to get him to release his hold. The stern deity is surrounded with dark flames, a rope in his extended hand. A great image from this early Yoshitoshi series with a dramatic natural setting.
