Angry Samurai Waving a Fan, 1876

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a scene of a samurai angrily waving a black fan decorated with a red sun above his head as he glares at a young boy. He wears a gray vest over a fine suit of armor, his long hair falling loosely over his shoulders. The boy looks back at him with a worried expression, while the beauty in front of him watches him closely. The large figures stand out nicely against a red background bordered with a simulated black lacquer frame. Nicely detailed with burnishing on the armor, the fan, and the frame.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 14" x 28 3/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels, backed with paper. Small hole on beauty's face, repaired. Please see photos for details.
