Iwai Kumesaburo III as a Crown Prince, 1853

Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of Iwai Kumesaburo III as a crown prince, leaning against an armrest as he sits on a cushion. He grins happily as he looks up over his shoulder, wearing a coat with a pleated collar over a white kimono with a faint embossed pattern. A cloud of smoke rises from an incense burner atop a slender red lacquer table with a few butterflies fluttering above. Nice detail in the interior setting and furnishings.
