The Sarugababa Resthouse near Futagawa, circa 1833 - 1834 - Handsome view of travelers arriving at the Sarugababa Resthouse near Futagawa. At left, man relaxes on a bench in front of a shop, smoking a pipe. The hill is dotted with pine trees, sloping gently up toward the right. An attractive landscape, nicely detailed, with bokashi shading in the ground and sky.

Artist - Hiroshige (1797 - 1858)

Image Size - 8 7/8" x 13 7/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Remnants of paper mounts on reverse at top corners. Slight separation at ends of vertical centerfold, repaired. Toning, spotting, slight soiling and creasing, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details.
