A geisha practicing the shamisen, a beauty in her private quarters, an entertainer crossing the river on a ferry--these charming scenes wonderfully capture life in Japan throughout the ages. Beautifully printed, many of the images feature deluxe techniques such as delicate embossing or burnishing, along with soft bokashi shading. A delightful series, great for collecting or display.

Special detail - Burnishing on the black lacquer trim of the wooden panel at left and the black areas of the kimono and obi.
