Flowers, 1847 - 1852 - Charming scene of Prince Genji paying a surprise evening visit to a beauty. He peers around the edge of a folding screen at left, waving a fan above the top of the screen to catch the attention of the young woman. She smiles happily back at him as she sits on a cushion, her obi tossed over the screen and a few loose hairs framing her face. At right, an attendant gestures toward the garden, where a few beauties prepare to cut some blossoming cherry branches. A lovely design with attractive detail.
