Comments - Handsome kabuki double portrait from the play "Hachiman Matsuri Yomiya no Nigiwai" of the lovers Yokugushi no Otomi and Kirare Yosa. The young Yosaburo was captured during a tryst with a gang boss's mistress, Otomi, and slashed all over. He survived the attack with scars all over his body, earning him the nickname "Kirare" or "Scarface." After turning to a life of petty crime, Yosa was accidentally reunited with his true love, Otomi, while trying to blackmail her. Here, he looks up at the beauty with a slightly worried expression, scars visible on his face and chest. She grins back at him happily, overjoyed to see him again, a roll of tissues held to her chin. Nice large expressive figures.
