Beauty Hiding beneath an Umbrella, 1867

Comments - Handsome kabuki scene of a couple in an autumn landscape, the beauty at right scowling angrily at the young man at left. She wears a blue and gray print kimono over a red floral robe, a folding fan hanging from a slender bamboo pole over her shoulder. The fellow at left glares back at her as he pushes up one sleeve of his robe. Just below, a beauty is hiding beneath an umbrella between two stacks of grain. Blossoms and grasses fill the background beneath the night sky. An attractive design, nicely colored.

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 28 3/8"
