Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.
A Courtesan and Her Girl Attendant - Wonderful Kiyonobu design from the early color print period of an elegant courtesan and her young attendant. The beauty holds a small ground cherry between her delicate fingers. Her kimono decorated is decorated with a bold design of blossoming cherry trees with cloth panels hung below to provide privacy for cherry blossom viewing parties. A fine large format print that would make an excellent display.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Horizontal fold. Toning, spotting at edge. Folder has toning, spotting, and a stain. Please see photos for details.
