Eight Dog Warriors Kabuki Scene, 1852 - Terrific kabuki triptych depicting a scene from the kabuki play "Satomi Hakkenden," based on the famous story of "Nanso Satomi and the Eight Dog Warriors." These great warriors were the mystical offspring of Princess Fuse, the daughter of Lord Anzai of the Satomi Clan, and a dog. From left, the actors are Sawamura Chojuro V as Yamabayashi Fusahachi, Arashi Kichisaburo III in the role of Inuta Kobungo, Otani Tomoemon IV as the elderly servant Tanaya Bungohei, Seki Sanjuro III as Inukai Genpachi, and Bando Shuka I playing Inuzuka Shino.
