Nakamura Utaemon IV as the Fisherman Fukashichi, Actually Kanawa Goro Imakuni, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Handsome portrait from the kabuki play "Imoseyama onna teikin" of Nakamura Utaemon IV as the trusted samurai Kanawa Goro Imakuni, who is disguised as the fisherman Fukashichi. He stares over his shoulder with a grim expression as three spears are pointed at him, gripping an ornate pipe in his hand. Her wears a boldly patterned plaid kamishimo over a plaid kimono, his bulky figure filling the page. His hair is pulled back into a bushy ponytail with wings sticking out at the sides of his head. A nice expressive figure with fine line work in the hair.
