Nakamura Fukusuke I as Shimizu Yoshitaka, 1856

Comments - Great kabuki scene of the beauty Ohime hiding behind the nobleman Shimizu Yoshitaka, The beauty cowers behind his back as he holds a folding fan up before him, a strange grin on his face. He wears an elegant coat with a red pleated collar over a gray and white kimono with green circular motifs. At left, a vine with autumn colored leaves climbs over a stone lantern, and a stone wall with a wooden marker can be seen at right. A handsome design with an interesting setting.
