Geisha in Her Dressing Room

Series; Contest of Present-day Beauties

Geisha in Her Dressing Room - Charming portrait of a geisha in her dressing room, applying makeup to the back of her neck with the aid of a hand mirror. She looks down with a smile, her blue floral kimono slipping from her shoulders as she works. A small blue ceramic bowl of makeup rests on a black lacquer stand before her, and her hair is adorned with a small tortoiseshell comb and red tie-dyed ribbon. A lovely image, rarely seen in reprint.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 15" x 10 1/8" + margins as shown
