Comments - Amusing triptych showing the Seven Lucky Gods in mock battle, painting each other with black ink. In the center, the jolly Hotei wields a brush in each hand, slathering the elongated forehead of Fukurokuju at right while simultaneously battling Bishamonten on the left. Only the Goddess Benzaiten doesn't participate, giggling into the sleeve of her elegant robe as she watches from upper right. Nicely drawn with fine calligraphic line work in the clothing. A curious and unusual depiction of these popular gods enjoying a lighthearted moment.
