Spring Colors: A Sea View for Murasaki, 1865

Comments - Terrific triptych showing Prince Genji and an attendant at the seashore. He wears a striking black kimono patterned with cranes and pine trees. Behind them, two abalone divers are returning from a day's work, carrying baskets and nets with their catch, one holding an oar over her shoulder. At right, three beauties enjoy the view from a hilltop using a modern telescope. Blossoming cherry trees add a lovely spring touch. A handsome Edo era design.

Artist - Fusatane (active circa 1850 - 1870)

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 28 3/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with nice detail as shown. Three separate panels. A few repairs and creases, a couple stains. Please see photos for details.
