Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.
Line-fishing on the Miyato River - Wonderful scene of fishermen on the Miyato River. In the boat in the foreground, one man tends the oar while his companions are busy around a wooden tub. At far right, a fisherman with a rod sits on the embankment. In boats further out on the water, two men dip nets into the river. A willow tree frames the view. Nicely colored and detailed.
