True View of the Foreign Buildings along the Kaigandori Seen from the Yokohama Wharves, 1875 - Fantastic Yokohama triptych showing the foreign buildings lining Kaigandori along the harbor. In the foreground, foreigners and Japanese watch the arrival of a large American ship, the United States flag fluttering behind the billowing sails. A woman in European dress uses a telescope for a better view, while beside her a Chinese man with a pigtail chats with a Westerner. The flags of different countries fly high above the fine modern stone buildings along the street. An incredible image with wonderful detail and lively color. A great Yokohama subject, rarely seen.
