Comments - Great scene of a samurai fighting off attackers at the Takata Riding Grounds. In the center, the young warrior twists the wrist of one man while thrusting his sword out at another, his sleeves tied back with a red sash. At top center left, an elderly daimyo sitting on a black lacquer folding stool gestures angrily, a naginata in hand. On the mat behind him, bento boxes of food can be seen along with a tray holding a kettle and cups. A crowd has gathered to watch at left, with men climbing a pine tree to get a better look above the bamboo fence. A lively image with expressive figures, nicely detailed.
