Comments - Great scene of the Meiji Emperor returning to the capital following Japan's victory in the Sino-Japanese War. Arriving by train, he is greeted by the Empress and the young Prince, with other dignitaries standing around. Flags and red and white striped bunting add a festive air to the celebration. Nicely detailed with burnishing on the black uniforms. The first time we've seen this subject.
