Comments - Handsome illustration of the Meiji Emperor returning to Tokyo in triumph at the end of the Sino-Japanese War. Riding in an elegant carriage surrounded by officers on horseback, the emperor makes his way through a triumphal arch covered with greenery at Hibiya, with Japanese flags crossed above the entrance. Cheering crowds line the street, clapping and waving their hats as fireworks explode overhead. A handsome depiction of this historic event.

Artist - Toshiaki (1864 - 1921)

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 27 3/8"
