Original Meiji era Japanese Woodblock Print
Beauties with Silkworm Cocoons, 1889

Comments - Interesting depiction of beauties engaged in sericulture, the practice of raising silkworms to produce silk. The woman at lower right smiles up at her companion as she plucks cocoons from a twig, piling them in baskets at left. At right, a young boy plays with a cat, lifting the animal atop his head. A charming design.
