Comments - Lovely scene of Prince Genji visiting a beauty in a room overlooking the waterfront. He grins happily as he looks over his shoulder at the ships in the harbor. He wears an elegant red coat patterned with roosters over a yellow print kimono, a fan in his hand. The beauty sits in a black lacquer chair at right, smiling happily, a young attendant kneeling at her side. A meal has been set on a low red lacquer table at bottom center, and at lower left, a matron leans forward with an expression of interest. Panels decorated with folding fans line the room, and a black lacquer balustrade runs along the verandah. A charming design with attractive color and detail, including embossing in the white rooster's feathers and the white kimono trim, and burnishing in the chairs and balustrade.
