Series; The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers (Chushingura)

The 47 Ronin, Act 3: The Rear Gate - Handsome kabuki portrait of one of Lord Hangan's retainers, Hayano Kampei. He crouches with a folding fan in his hand, looking up with an angry frown. He wears an intricately patterned kamishimo over a black kimono with Lord Hangan's crossed feather crest on the sleeves. Kampei has arrived at the rear gate of the palace too late to prevent his master's attack on Lord Moronao. Ashamed of his behavior, he decides to elope with his lover Okaru. The background is softly shaded from blue-gray to green, with handsome wood grain impression.

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Thinning at corner, a couple holes, repaired. Slight rubbing at edge, a couple spots. Please see photos for details.
