Wishing to Serve Sake to Her Lover; Crabs of Nagato Province - Lovely portrait from a seldom seen Kuniyoshi series pairing beauties with famous products, with each figure expressing a certain desire. The young woman here wishes to pour sake for her lover, leaning forward with an eager smile, the sake kettle in hand. Her kimono features a pattern of red blossoms, worn over a red under robe with a white collar shaded in pink and tied with a black obi. Her hair is pulled back into a smooth bun adorned with clusters of flowers. The inset at upper left depicts fishermen carrying heavy baskets filled with crabs from Nagato. A beautiful design, nicely detailed with embossing on the white kimono collar and trim.
